I'm in the bathroom putting on my makeup. My girls watch, fascinated at the process.
"What's that?" a daughter asks.
"Mascara." I answer.
"What does it do?" she wants to know.
"It makes your eyelashes darker."
"Why do you want your eyelashes darker?" It's a good question.
"I don't know. Social convention, I guess." Ben rolls his eyes at me when I give answers like this.
"I don't really know what that means," she says.
"You know, neither do I."
Really, why do we? Go natural :) !!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of what Lillian said to me this week. She picked up my tweezers and asked, "What are these for?"
ReplyDelete"For plucking out your eyebrows."
"Why would I want to pull out my pretty eyebrows?" She said in horror.
I guess some things just don't make that much sense to me either.
too cute! The fad in Singaporeis to have eyelash extensions which last for 3-4 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI love black eyelashes... very dramatic! :) I don't think I'm dramatic enough for extensions however. :0)
